Serves as the Co-Director of the Materials Application Research Center (MARC). The MARC provides a seamless environment integrating applied multidisciplinary academic research, industry sponsored projects, and experiential learning opportunities for students addressing creation of a talent pipeline by integration of research, education and commercialization outreach. She is an Associate Professor of Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. She is a member of Texas State's New Ventures.

Responsible for The Texas State Entrepreneurship Network and I-Corps Site training.  She is also a Management (Entrepreneurship) Professor at the McCoy College of Business, Barshop Excellence Professor in Entrepreneurship 2015-2018, Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor. She is a certified Business Valuation Appraiser. She incorporates her entrepreneurship experience into the valuations she provides for her clients. She is a member of Texas State's New Ventures.
